Week Beginning: Sunday 28th February, 2010
Sunday 28th February
David plans meeting with the enemy.
David, Ruth, Jill, Pat, Tony, Helen
- Jill is managing to keep going most of the time. She's begun sorting through his things and has brought some things for Pip. Pip is late back from lunch with Jude and David makes his displeasure very clear. Pip, however, is really touched by the gifts - music mainly that she used to play with Phil. Jill persuades Pip it would be a good idea to let David and Ruth meet Phil. Later Jill suggests David and Pip invite Jude round so they suggest tea on Tuesday.
- Helen asks for help with completing the form for the fertility clinic and Tony leaves the room instantly which upsets Helen. Pat and Tony have another argument about it but Tony won't change his mind.

Monday 1st March
Lilian performs an act of kindness.
Lilian, Paul, Tom, Brenda, Alan, Usha
- Matt's brother turns up at the Dower House to tell Lilian that his mother has died. But he says he hasn't come to talk about Matt, he just wanted someone to talk to. He stays for a coffee and to talk and he rather pours his heart out. Lilian tries to convince him that his mother was just the way she was - she was cold and distant with Matt too - but Paul had hoped 'til the end that she would come round. When he eventually leaves, Lilian offers to do anything she can to help.
- Tom and Brenda are still ploughing through the leafleting for the milk round. Brenda doesn't understand Helen's motivation. If she had Helen's opportunities she'd have grabbed them with both hands. Look at Roy - Phoebe put his career back years. She just doesn't get it.
- Usha comes home from work to spend some "quality time" with Alan, but church business intervenes! But then, so does Usha's life too! Things will have to wait 'til after Easter.....

Tuesday 2nd March
Pip plays a game of avoidance at Brookfield.
Susan, Peggy, Ruth, David, Lilian, Matt
- Peggy decides it's time to have a talk with Susan. She agrees that she is entitled to redundancy money and offers her the extra money she would have got if she claimed unfair dismissal, as a token of her respect for all her hard work. Susan is really pleased. She should have known Peggy wouldn't let her down.
- David is not looking forward to tea with Jude. Ruth bullies him into changing out of his overalls but that's about as far as it would go. Ruth goes to quite a lot of trouble with buying cakes and biscuits but in the end they get a text saying they can't make it after all. David wants to confront her but Ruth says they will just need to be a bit cleverer than that.
- Lilian is amazed that Matt really doesn't seem to care about the death of his Mother. But he says he's got more to worry about - the confiscation hearings will be heard in the next month. He really is worried about how much they will be fined. Russell thinks it could be up in the millions. All his plans could come to nothing. Lilian says she'll always support him and Matt is really touched.
- When Peggy tells Lilian what she has decided about Susan she agrees it's the right thing. And as she leaves Peggy, Lilian gets a text saying his mother's funeral will be next Thursday. What is Lilian supposed to do about that?

Wednesday 3rd March
Helen ventures into the unknown.
Kathy, Pat, Lynda, Helen, Oliver, Brian
- Kathy is getting fed up with Kenton. He is working all hours at Jaxx and is now helping Jim with his house move. He won't even mention Phil to her. She obviously isn't any comfort for him at all. She is feeling really left out.
- It is Helen's appointment at the fertility clinic. She tries to convince them that she has total family support though she admits that her Father isn't being really supportive but she is convinced he will change when the baby arrives. Her weight is also a bit of a worry. But still, subject to a few more tests, they think she will be suitable for treatment.
- Lynda is getting a lot of support for her graffiti clean up day. Neil has signed up - taking his new responsibilities seriously. Oliver meanwhile has decided he is going to be a waiter at Grey Gables to replace on who has called in sick.
- On the shop front, Susan has agreed to work in the shop on two mornings a week and will run the Post Office every week day afternoon. She'll have to help with training too. Fund raising is going well. They've already go some grants. And it's the chance for Lynda to have another production! Though the rest of the committee doesn't sound convinced. They are quite keen on the idea of a talent show though Lynda doesn't like that idea.

Thursday 4th March
Oliver can't stand the heat at Grey Gables.
Ian, Oliver, Jennifer, Lilian, Usha, Josh, Jamie
- Oliver has turned up again as a stand-in waiter at Grey Gables but Ian isn't impressed. He was very slow last night and customers complained. He isn't any more impressive serving Jennifer and Lilian. While they are waiting, Lilian admits she has agreed to go to Matt's Mother's funeral which Jennifer thinks is a great mistake and reduces Lilian to tears.
- Usha is spotted by half the village moving an inflatable mattress into Alan's tent. Jamie and Josh managed to mistake inflating the mattress for other activity which rather dampened Usha's passions again.

Friday 5th March
Jude goes into the Dragon's Den.
Pip, Jude, David, Ruth, Ian, Helen
- Ruth finally gets to meet Jude and he is happy to come in for a cup of tea though Pip is very reluctant. David seems to find it impossible to make even a small effort. But it turns out Pip has been lying about even telling Jude that he had been invited to tea. But even Ruth is surprised at how immature he is for his age. Nonetheless, she is happier than she was. She doubts it will last for Pip.
- Ian was at the end of his tether with Oliver but he has finally given up and booked an agency guy. Ian is please to hear about the clinic though and a few more tests and she is good to go. Though she will need independent counselling further down the line. Helen is welcoming the support she is getting from the clinic and friends and family but she is clear she doesn't want the father involved, she wants the baby all to herself.
- During the post mortem Jude says how much he liked Ruth - she is a looker and even David was just the sardonic type. He does comment on the fact that Pip didn't tell him he was invited for tea but otherwise is very positive.
